For the 5th year running Newbridge Silverware in collaboration the National College of Art and Design presents a unique and exciting opportunity for an emerging Irish jewellery designer.
In the form of a `Knowledge Transfer Partnership`, Newbridge Silverware have given the NCAD Metals Area the opportunity to experience all the vital functions of an innovative marketing led company.
The competition was open to NCAD Metals area 2nd/3rd year student who were given the brief to create a design for the Newbridge Silverware 2011 jewellery range.
The competition offered talented students a unique opportunity to gain insight knowledge of how Irelands leading design company, Newbridge Silverware manages and operates design, product analysis and goes about market research.
The selection of the Newbridge Silverware / NCAD jewellery designer of the year will take place May 26th in the `Silver Restaurant` located at the Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre. At the selection event, all finalists will get the opportunity to exhibit their work and friends, family and the Irish media will see their designs modelled by top Irish models.
The overall winner will be presented with a prestigious trophy from Newbridge Silverware and will have their winning design included in the 2011 Newbridge Jewellery Collection.

This piece will also be donated to the National Museum of Ireland to become part of the NCAD permanent precious metal collection.
