DOROTHY'S ORIGINAL WIZARD OF OZ COSTUME WORN BY JUDY GARLAND TO DISPLAY AT THE NEWBRIDGE SILVERWARE MUSEUM OF STYLE ICONS

In a stunning twist of magic only the Wizard himself could have conjured, the Newbridge Silverware Museum of Style Icons has announced a limited engagement to display one of the most iconic screen worn dresses in film history. Judy Garland's blue gingham dress from the classic film Wizard of Oz will make its way to the world's premiere fashion museum on Wednesday May 22, 2013. As Dorothy Gale, Garland brought the magic of Oz to life. The blue and white pinafore costume, which recently sold for a record sum of $480,000 USD at Julien's Auctions in November 2012, includes both original blouse and pinafore. The dress was the subject of major worldwide news prior to it being auctioned and now fans of film, celebrity and fashion can view it beginning on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. The dress will remain on display through Wednesday, July 31, 2013 and fans can view it from 9am-6pm daily.
During the exhibit, the iconic costume joins Judy Garland's 'Manuela. ivory satin wedding dress designed by Tom Keogh from The Pirate (MGM 1948) which is part of the museum's permanent collection.
