The Robert De Mario company was founded in New York in 1945. The company produced high quality costume jewellery for a period of twenty years before they ceased trading in 1965. Originally from Italy De Mario immigrated to America in the 1920’s where he worked for Miriam Haskell. His work is known for its high quality handmade layered jewellery designs with intricate detail often adorning natural and faux pearls plus mother of pearl and imitation precious stones. De Mario’s Jewellery was produced on a small scale making his designs rare and highly collectible today.
