The Designer
Founded by Gustavo Trifari circa 1910. Gustavo was the Italian-immigrant son of a Napoli goldsmith. Since the 1920s, Trifari has been one of the most respected and admired producers of costume jewellery in the United States worn by royalty and celebrities alike.
The French designer Alfred Philippe became chief designer in 1930, arriving from the esteemed jewellery design house – Van Cleef & Arpels. It is this level of craftsmanship never before seen in costume jewellery that has made Trifari very collectable to this day.
