The Designer
The luxury French brand Hermes founded in 1837 did not begin producing scarves until 1937 when the first design based on a print by Robert Dumas was introduced. The scarf was spun from 100% silk and then woven into fabric and screen printed. To this day over 2,000 Hermes silk scarf designs have been produced using the same methods with designs of equestrian, military, nautical and botanical motifs.
