What is EPNS?
EPNS is Electro Plated Nickel Silver. Our EPNS cutlery features a coating of pure silver which is deposited by the process of electrolysis onto a brass alloy of copper, zinc and nickel, traditionally known as ‘nickel silver’.
EPNS is used at the high end of restaurants and has a very elegant and classical look. The thickness of the silver plating determines the durability of the product.
Newbridge Silverware’s cutlery under normal domestic use and following our simple ‘care of cutlery’ guidelines carry a 55 year guarantee. This is a true testament to the quality of our product. Over a period of time, silver plated cutlery will also display the same aesthetically pleasing patina characteristic of sterling silver cutlery.

Kings was designed by Henry and John Lias on commission from King George III, hence the name. Kings is steeped in heritage. Based on the honeysuckle flower and shell, it is perhaps the most famous pattern in the world.

The unique Celtic pattern range was designed exclusively for Newbridge Silverware by Kilkenny Design in 1955. The Celtic cutlery pattern showcases the traditional design of Celtic knots to perfection, making it a fitting accompaniment to any dining table.
Dubarry
Dubarry combines Baroque and Asiatic influences to strike a beautiful balance between intricate detail and straight lines. First appearing in the early 18th century, its inspiration lies in the elegant furniture of Thomas Chippendale.
Bead
The Bead pattern was introduced in the late 1700’s by a lady silversmith, Hester Bateman. The name is derived from the beaded border decoration, said to be inspired by a string of pearls.
Monagh
The Monagh pattern is a Bauhaus design dating back to the 1940's. This pattern is now exclusive to the Newbridge Silverware collection.
Antique
Using centuries-old Irish craft techniques, the Antique cutlery pattern features a unique knife design, which was created by Newbridge Silverware in 1993. This smooth, cream-coloured handle is offset with an ornately patterned ferrule. The Newbridge Silverware Antique knife is contrasted with stylish complementary items to enhance any dining occasion.
