Costume jewellery became globally popular during the 1950’s. Many of the designs were colourful and ornate matching perfectly to the fashion of the era. It was in the 50’s when Hollywood stars sponsorship, clothing and advertisements made wearing jewellery during the daytime popular. Influenced by the collaboration of Dior and Swarovski, outfits were completed with a dazzling bib necklace or brooches encrusted with colourful Aurora Borealis crystal settings. The trend continued with designers such as Trifari, Coro, Corocraft and Vendome producing quality costume jewellery using colourful crystal stone settings as are still used today.
