The Designer

The Henkel Grosse story began in Germany in 1907 when Heinrich Henkel and his brother-in-law Florentin Grosse establish their own company. It was not until the 1930’s that they worked with notable fashion houses such as Lanvin and Schiaparelli of Paris, Harrods of London and Saks of Fifth Avenue. The company won The Medal of Honour at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937 for innovative design and creation of new technologies in the jewellery industry. In 1955 Grosse began their relationship with Dior and held the licence for the design, production and sale of luxury jewellery for Dior, an agreement that spanned over 50 years. The Grosse company ceased trading in 2006 and thereafter became part of the successful Dior group.
